Mobile coffee cart

The mobile coffee bar

Anyone looking to buy a coffee cart today faces a question of format: a coffee bike, a converted coffee Ape, or a full-fledged sales vehicle? As a mobile coffee unit, the L5 Cargo combines the advantages of these formats: it is as compact and agile as an Ape, but 100% electric – and offers significantly more space, payload, and customization options than a coffee bike.

‍

The vehicle transforms into a coffee bar on wheels in just a few minutes: open the flaps, set up the counter, and pull your first espresso. It comes with EU road approval (Class L5e) and a setup tailored to your specific concept – from the machine to the milk refrigeration.

Benefits

What makes the L5 Cargo stand out as a mobile coffee cart

Quiet where it counts: Electric operation is virtually silent, meaning no noisy generator to drown out conversations at the counter.

No exhaust fumes at the counter: 100% emission-free – a feature that convinces event organizers just as much as the quality of your coffee.

Suitable for indoor use: Emission-free and quiet operation makes this coffee cart ideal for indoor venues, trade fairs, and shopping centers.

EU road-legal (L5e, WVTA): 125 km range per charge. A standard Class B driver's license is sufficient.

Low operating costs: Charges in approx. 5 hours from any standard 230V outlet. The maintenance-free 15 kWh battery is designed for over 1,000 charging cycles. No fuel, no generator logistics.

Use Cases

Mobile coffee bar for weddings, events, and mobile retail

Festival Operations

Weddings & Private Parties

The mobile coffee bar is one of the most popular catering formats for weddings and corporate parties. If you offer this service, you need a vehicle that does two things well: it must look great and run quietly—no generators humming during the wedding vows. The electric coffee cart delivers both and, with custom branding and setup, becomes a recognizable part of your service offering.

Brand Presence

Corporate Events & Trade Fairs

Whether used as a barista station at trade fairs, for client events, or as a brand sampling space, the emission-free and near-silent operation makes this coffee cart ideal for indoor settings like exhibition halls and shopping centers.

Mobile sales

Farmers' markets & city centers

Morning at the train station, midday at the farmers' market, afternoon at the park: the coffee cart goes wherever the demand is—no towing vehicle required, and with an 8-meter turning radius, it fits into even the tightest spaces. In the evening, it can be charged using a standard 230V outlet.

Self-employment

The mobile café

For entrepreneurs, a coffee cart is the perfect way to launch your own café without the burden of shop rent: lower fixed costs, flexible location choices, and a concept that grows with you—from weekend pop-ups to a permanent spot. During our consultation, we will develop a configuration that perfectly matches your business model.

The Coffee Bike is an affordable entry point, but with a payload typically under 100 kg and a footprint of just a few square meters, it quickly reaches its limits once you add a portafilter machine, grinder, and refrigeration. The classic coffee Ape offers retro charm, but it is based on combustion engine technology—and since the end of 2024, it is no longer produced for the European market, making new vehicles nearly impossible to find. As an electric coffee cart, the L5 Cargo combines the agility of the Ape with four times the payload and the equipment level of a permanent coffee bar—available as a new vehicle with modern battery technology and EU type approval (WVTA).

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a coffee cart cost?

The price depends on the barista equipment, refrigeration, water/power setup, and branding—we will provide you with a custom quote. Leasing and financing options are available through our financing partner.

Should you buy or rent a coffee cart?

Renting is worthwhile for one-off events, but if you sell regularly or offer coffee catering, owning your own vehicle is more cost-effective: you get full availability, your own branding, and an asset that builds your business over the years. We can calculate exactly when purchasing becomes the more economical choice during a consultation.

Do you offer used coffee carts?

We supply new vehicles that are custom-built for your concept. Compared to a used coffee cart, this means your equipment and workflow are optimized from day one, with full warranty coverage and the latest battery technology instead of an unknown history.

Coffee bike or coffee cart – which one is right for me?

The coffee bike is a compact, affordable entry point with limited capacity and technology. The electric coffee cart offers significantly more payload, equipment flexibility, and weather independence – while maintaining a similarly quiet, emission-free operation. For growing concepts and professional catering, the cart is the scalable solution.

What equipment is available – espresso machines, grinders, refrigeration?

The setup is planned based on your concept: the machine, grinder, milk and product refrigeration, counter, and the appropriate water and power systems are all tailored to your product range and workflow. We will define the configuration together during our consultation.

What permits do I need for mobile coffee sales?

Requirements vary depending on how you operate – for example, itinerant trade permits, location permits, and food safety regulations. We are familiar with the typical practical questions and can help you navigate them, though binding clarification must be obtained from your local authorities.

Can I start my own business with a mobile coffee bar?

Yes – a coffee cart is one of the most established ways to enter the mobile catering industry: manageable fixed costs, flexible locations, and a scalable concept. During our consultation, we develop a configuration tailored to your business model and budget, including leasing and financing options.

What kind of driver's license do I need?

Generally, a Class B license is sufficient. Exact requirements depend on the country and type of use and will be clarified during your consultation.
